Tumble Bee Gym Re-Opening Plan

Policies & Procedures for the Return of our Students During Covid-19
The health and safety of our gymnasts is our top priority. When we begin to return to the gym during Covid-19, every decision, policy, and procedure we make will be made for the safety, health and well being of our gymnasts, staff, and families.
Everything about Covid-19, it’s spread, state, government guidelines and social responses seem to be constantly changing. Our return plan and procedures will be based on the regulations put forth by the CDC, State of New York, NYS Gymnastics and USA Gymnastics.
One thing we have learned in our communication with our families is that we are all navigating this situation the best we can, each of us has had to find a unique plan that works for us and our family.
At Tumble Bee Gym we will be doing everything we can to meet and exceed local, state and federal guidelines. While we will try our best to create the safest environment for everyone, we do respect the decision of those who may choose to delay their return.
In the interest of protecting the health and safety of the children entrusted to our care, Tumble Bee Gym will be implementing all of the following policies and procedures for our re-opening post Covid-19.

We All Must Do Our Part
Due to the nature of how viruses spread, we all must do our part to support a healthy, safe environment for all. Maintaining a healthy, safe environment is going to take work and cooperation from our staff, gymnasts, and parents. We ask that every family does their part by practicing good personal hygiene, following the policies and procedures set forth and being kind, patient and supportive of each other. It is important to remember, that this is a difficult, unprecedented and challenging time for all of us.

Responsible for ensuring our facility policies are being executed, they are also responsible for the guidelines outside of work, their own health, and their travel and leisure activities.
Responsible for following the guidelines, helping support their classmates/teammates and by following all directions given by staff to ensure a low-risk environment for all.
Responsible for making sure your family is practicing good hygiene, following all policies, and helping our staff with your patience, support, and dutifulness as we return.

We have created a customized and comprehensive set of policies and procedures with four phases of reopening. Each phase has different amounts of precaution and risk management. Our RED PHASE will begin on July 6th. The dates for our Orange, Yellow and Green phases will be announced soon. While our goal is to return to ‘the new normal’ as soon as possible for all of our students, we will not put them at unnecessary risk or in a program we do not find reasonable at this time.
**All Phases and Class Levels Subject to Change Without Notice!**

Our Approach To Re-Opening
While we cannot both be open to the public and also prevent 100% of all germs from spreading, we are proud and confident in the policies and procedures we have put in place that meet or exceed all physical-distancing and personal hygiene standards recommended by the CDC and the State of New York. At this time, it is necessary to limit in-person viewing. Due to the the restrictions placed on Tumble Bee Gym by the New York State Department of Health and our commitment to safety the following policies and procedures will be in place for our re-opening.

  • Do not send child to the gym if you they not feeling well, please keep them at home.
  • Students must wash their hands and feet thoroughly before coming to the gym.
  • During our re-opening process, All Staff, Gymnasts and Parents will be screened upon arrival at the gym.
  • Have you traveled outside of the United States or to any of the restricted states in the last 14 days?
  • Have you had a fever in the last 48 hours?
  • Have you been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19?
  • Are you experiencing a cough, shortness of breath or a sore throat?
  • Have you had a loss of taste or smell?
  • Have you been vomiting or had diarrhea in the last 24 hours?

If you can say NO to all of these questions, we will be happy to have you in class today!

  • Temperature will be taken with a non-contact infrared thermometer before entering the gym.
  • Each student will be provided with hand sanitizer prior to entering the gym.
  • A staff member will help each student into the gym and direct them to their designated physical-distancing marker one at a time.
  • Everyone entering Tumble Bee Gym must wear a face mask. Students can remove their face mask once they have reached their designated physical-distancing marker.
  • Each family is limited to one parent per student.
  • The parent viewing area will have clearly marked physical-distancing markers with a limited amount of seating. The parent viewing area will be limited to the number of people allowed in accordance to government health standards.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the gym and viewing areas.
  • Students and coaches will be instructed to wash or sanitize their hands multiple times during their class, after each rotation and at the end of class.
  • Parents are asked to pick-up their child in the parking lot after class. Please be on time! A staff member will walk your child out to a designated area to meet you when class has ended. Please have a sign with your child’s name on the dashboard of your vehicle. In inclement weather, you may be required to pick-up your child at the door.
  • We suggest that students wash their hands and feet thoroughly when they get home after gymnastics class.
  • It is your duty to notify the gym if you or someone in your household had tested positive for COVID-19.

For these precautions to be as effective as possible, it will require the support and participation of the entire Tumble Bee Gym community. Maintaining a healthy and safe environment for all of our students and families is going to take work and cooperation from our staff, students, and parents. We need every family to do their part to practice good hygiene, follow our policies and procedures, and be patient and supportive of our gymnasts and coaches during this time. This is a stressful, unprecedented, and challenging situation for all of us. It is important to remember we all share the same goal, a safe return of our children’s lives to a sense of normalcy.
